I have written more than my fair share of commentary on this film. No, it’s not because I have a Channing Tatum obsession… you must be confusing me for my sister! The reason I am promoting this film so much, is because there has been some serious negative press surrounding it. Groups of men have been reported saying they are boycotting because they don’t want to see other men naked, let alone naked in a sexualized manner.

When prompted upon female sexuality and sexualization being a very common component in typical mainstream film, countless interviewees responded with, “that’s how it’s supposed to be”, or the ever-so-refined, “Yeahhhh! titties!” This film is essentially what ‘Bridesmaids’ was last year for women, film, and women in film… but on a much, much larger scale.

I will be seeing this film in theatres as a political action, and I hope you will too.
